Please Note: There will be a $25 PER PERSON Registration Fee
added to all Quilter's Affair Class Sign-ups.

(This will not show up in the shopping cart. Registration Fee is non-refundable.)
An additional $10.00 fee will be charged for any changes made after we have processed your initial registration.

Registering for a class online does NOT guarantee you will get a spot in the class--
all classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please list your secondary choices for all classes in the "Ordering Instructions" box
on the shopping cart page, in order of preference (2 - 5).

LUNCHES
Bagged lunches will be available to quilters at the school Monday through Friday for $10 through the efforts of the staff at Ray’s Food Place. Bagged lunches must be pre-ordered.
(Please, no orders for school lunches after June 30th.)

Need to borrow a sewing machine for your classes at Quilter’s Affair?
Morrow’s Sewing & Vacuum Center will have machines available for a $20/day rental fee.
Call Ed or Karen at 541-382-3882 after receiving your class confirmation to reserve a machine.

Classes run from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm and are held at the Sisters High School.
One-day workshops are $70, two-day workshops designated with two numbers beside the title are $140,
and three-day workshops are $210.

Look through the eyes of an artist as you create a beautiful Fusible Flower quilt. You will learn the steps of developing a flower art quilt; how color and values work to make a flower look real, how to use the fusible web, and how to lay out your design. Melinda encourages creativity, while assisting those who may feel timid about color and design. All skill levels can master these flowers and make them their own. Next, Melinda will demo her “Renegade Thread Play,” which is a simple method of free-motion quilting (don’t get nervous, she’ll break it down into simple steps). This technique adds detail and highlights to your flower quilt.

This is a one-of-a-kind workshop where Cindy will be your “Bartender” for the day at the Open Thread Bar! This is a great class for all levels of quilters…even the beginner! She will teach you the tricks of using all different types of threads in your machine, how to change your tensions, needles, thread delivery, bobbin work and so much more. There will be ten cases of thread at your disposal while you spend the day using these threads making a reference panel and learn to audition threads doing thread play on provided floral panels. Fun hands on embellishment class studying numerous ways to create flowers, which Sue uses on many of her quilts. You will arrive in class with your large flowers already appliquéd then spend the time in class layering and embellishing a one of a kind piece. In this hands-on class, discover the secrets of embroidery, trapunto, piping, couching and quilting by hand or machine to give your quilts that extra zing. “Scrappy” to Lawry is usually more than five fabrics – so plan on using at least that many if not more in this quilt. There will be a theme fabric, background and more in this somewhat traditional quilt. There is pre-class cutting and sewing, which will give you a big head start on getting this quilt together in class. Cutting instructions will be given for either using the Omnigrid© triangle rulers (96 and 98) – or cutting triangles using the strip/square/cut again method. Whoops – a clue (there are triangles)!

A twist on the traditional 16-patch! Amy used a number of different teal and blue prints for the strata-based Rainy Monday quilt, made with 2 1/2” strips. If you are opting to use two colors that are close together on the color wheel, be sure that you include a variety of different shades so that you can create contrast within each block. Also, don’t be afraid to use prints that have contrasting colors in them—they can add interest. The original Rainy Monday has many spots of red and hot pink that look great sewn into the quilt. Bring fabrics that you love, and some that you don’t! Amy will help you sort them all out and put ‘em together!

Each workshop is coded by level of expertise: Beginning workshops are for people who have little or no experience with quilt making; Advanced Beginning workshops require you to have rotary cutter and piecing experience; Intermediate workshops require you to be comfortable doing your own interpretation of patterns/designs; and Advanced workshops require you to be comfortable with all levels of designing and creating quilts.
