Classes with kits available are designated with a + symbol.
All kits must be ordered by APRIL 1st. Contact the Stitchin' Post for order forms & pricing.

Classes run from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Two numbers together indicate a two-day class.
All workshops are held at the Sisters High School.

Each workshop is coded by level of expertise: Beginning workshops are for people who have little or no experience with quiltmaking; Advanced Beginning workshops require you to have rotary cutter and piecing experience; Intermediate workshops require you to be comfortable doing your own interpretation of patterns/designs; and Advanced workshops require you to be comfortable with all levels of designing and creating quilts. Some classes require a specific book, pattern, or lab fee. These are listed at the bottom of the class description. (Note: If the name of the book/pattern or the author is not listed, then it is the same as the name of the class or teacher.)

LUNCHES
Daily lunches will be available to quilters at the school through the efforts of the staff at Ray’s Food Place.
Bagged lunches will be provided at the school Monday through Friday for $10 and must be pre-ordered. (Order your lunches on the registration form.)

Need to borrow a sewing machine for your classes at Quilter’s Affair? Morrow’s Sewing & Vacuum Center will have machines available for a $20/day rental fee.
Call Ed or Karen at 541-382-3882 after receiving your class confirmation to reserve a machine. Deadline for reservations is June 1.

Who knew the traditional Drunkard’s Path block had a contemporary side? Come explore various design possibilities of quarter-square circle blocks. The curved-piecing blocks in this quilt are fairly large, so the construction is easy – even for a beginner. Patterns and directions for three different up-dated Drunkard’s Path quilts will be offered in class; ranging from simple, elegant circles crafted with textural fabrics, to funky circles made with slight modifications to the basic block. This is a wonderful project for batiks, as their jewel tones lend themselves to this scrappy quilt. The block is an easy one and students will use cutting and piecing techniques to ensure an accurate block.

The blocks will be set diagonally with surefire instructions on how to cut and piece the corner and side-setting triangles. There is also the opportunity to use some small blocks in the centers, instead of the half-square triangle blocks, making your quilt truly unique.

Learn binding techniques, including double-folded, mitered corner bindings; hidden bindings for graphic quilts; curved bindings using bias strips; the pillow-case turn technique; and other edge finishes. In addition, you will do some embellishment treatments with inserted cording, couching, and folded fabric; and you will also learn how to apply a proper sleeve. There will be demonstrations on layering a quilt, discussion on choosing the correct batting, and methods of safety pinning, spray glue, and thread basting.
