Join us for a one-of-a-kind quilt club.
This year we will be doing a New York Beauty quilt. Paper piecing
techniques will be used. A paper piecing tutorial will be handed out at our first meeting and you will be invited to stay and work on the tutorial until 11:30 am. Jean will be on hand to help if you have any questions. If you wish to stay for the tutorial, be sure to bring your sewing machine and your basic sewing supplies. Each month you will get a packet of fabric and new pattern(s). In addition, you will add some of your own fabrics for backgrounds and to personalize your quilt. Arrive at each meeting with your finished blocks(s) and you will receive a new fabric packet and pattern. At the first club meeting, you will pay $5 and receive your first packet. During the subsequent months, if you do not finish the block from the prior month, you will need to pay $5 again. If you cannot attend the meeting, send a friend with your block.

*You are invited to stay and stitch on the tutorial handed out in the first meeting until 11:30 am.

dear jane quilt club

Have you heard of “Janiacs”? They are quilters who have become addicted to making the 4-1/2” blocks that make up the Dear Jane or Baby Jane quilts (225 blocks in all). This quilt is based on one done in 1863 by Jane A. Stickle. All other quilts inspired by this quilt are “babies.” Each is unique and belongs to its maker, but they are all derived from the “Mother.” Some blocks are pieced and others appliquéd. Once you make a block or two, you are hooked. You will work on your own blocks and Ann will give demonstrations and help you out when needed. You bring your own palette of fabric and Ann will help you with color. Come join this fun group and make “your” version of a Dear Jane quilt.

Block of the Month Challenge Club

For those of you who can’t make it to the store, try the Block of the Month Challenge. Sign up for one year and pay $18. Each month you will receive a block pattern with a piece of fabric in the mail. Combining that fabric with some of your own, you make the block. If you send the completed block back to the store before the end of the month, you are eligible for the drawing of blocks submitted by other club members. Up to four members win 20 blocks each month!

If you want to participate on your own schedule, you can come by the store and pick up the current month’s block packet for $1.50.

Class Registration Policies & Procedures

What do I need for class?
Each class has a Supply List. There may be additional class costs for special sewing supplies, such as freezer paper for a piecing class, special templates, or rulers, etc. Fabric requirements will be listed. Some classes require preparation prior to your first class, i.e., pre-cutting fabric, bringing design ideas, etc. Once you register for your class and receive your Supply List, you will receive a 15% discount on all required supplies. To receive the discount, you must have your Supply List with you when you make your purchase.

Registration Procedures
Pre-registration and payment are required. Register during our Fall/Winter Preview Party and receive a 10% discount on the fee. You may register by phone (541-549-6061) or at the store. You receive a 10% discount any time you register on-line. (Sorry, discount does not apply to Clubs, Workshops, Retreats and Special Events).

Class Cancellation Policy
You must cancel at least TEN (10) DAYS prior to the class for a full refund. If the Stitchin’ Post cancels a class, you may take a store credit or request a refund. (For workshops and retreats, cancellation must be made SIX WEEKS prior for a refund, less a $25 non-refundable deposit).

Sometimes We Cancel a Class….
On occasion we will cancel a class due to insufficient enrollment. We make that decision ten (10) days before the scheduled class. We recommend that you call to confirm that the class has met its minimum enrollment and will go on as scheduled. The safest bet is to do your class purchases within ten (10) days of the class date.
