Fibonacci Goes Floral
Judy Johnson
Thursday, December 10, 9 - 4* pm
Advanced Beginning BSS
$35
|
 |
Learn all about cutting identical block pieces from
layered fabric and a bit of simple but useful mathematics!
While creating this vibrant wall hanging or lap
quilt, the center of which was created from a single
piece of fabric, you will also learn a little bit about Fibonacci
number sequence and geometric transformations.
|
Part of the secret to success is in the selection
of appropriate fabric so optional pre-class “assisted
shopping time” is provided for those who wish Judy’s
help.
The remaining class time should be adequate
for cutting and assembling the modified four-patch
blocks and completing the quilt center. You’ll leave
with an almost finished quilt top!
*The first hour of class will be “assisted shopping time” for
those of you wishing Judy’s help. The actual class starts
at 10 am.

Collaborative Chicks
Saturdays; September 19, October 17, November 21,
December 19, January 16, February 20 (note new date)
10 - 4 pm
Advanced Beginning BSS*
$40 each class or $200 for all six classes (includes lunches)
Six Stitchin’ Post quilt instructors (the collaborative chicks) have
joined together to explore quilts in Freddy & Gwen Collaborate
Again: Freewheeling Twists on Traditional Quilt Designs, by Gwen
Marston and Freddy Moran. Six months, one Saturday each month,
will be devoted to a workshop with a different instructor. Each
instructor has chosen a quilt from the book and will interpret it in
their own color and fabric style palette, adding their personal flair
and expertise. In March, when Freddy and Gwen return to teach
a workshop, we will host an evening Show and Tell event with the class/club
quilts. The finished quilts will also be in a special exhibit at the Sisters Outdoor
Quilt Show’s 35th anniversary.
The classes will be limited to 24 students and will include a light lunch. Sign
up for all six classes and receive one class free or take what you like. If you are
a six-month member you are also invited to create a “self portrait chick” that will
be added to the Collaborative Chicks banner for the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show
special exhibit.
