We used batiks for this quilt -- but you decide on the fabrics using two different color families. The sample uses browns and blacks with a bit of cream to create a “mocha!” The construction of the blocks is easy--sewing strips and using the “snowball” technique – yet the quilt has a “that must be hard to make” look to it. Learn to knit a basic sock on two circular needles. On the first day of class, we will cast on, create the ribbing for the top of the sock and start to knit the basic body of the sock.

We start this hat by knitting the I-cord first, followed by the earflaps. Stitches are then cast-on and joined to work in the round (see black & orange hat on left). You will learn to increase and decrease stitches and cast-on knitting techniques. When the hat is finished, it is washed in warm water and dried in a dryer to its desired size.
