All Tangled Up

Using a jelly roll or 16 different fabrics, you will make four large blocks with three square rings in each.
Each ring is a different fabric and the 13th square ring holds them all together in the center.
Use your remaining strips to add scrappy borders with a twist
in each corner.

Carpenter's Square

This very traditional Carpenter’s Square gives the appearance of strips of fabric weaving in and out in the blocks. When looking closely at the design, you will see two different blocks. These combine to create a classic two color quilt. Ours is two solids, but a solid and a print would work as well.

Log Cabin with an Amish Twist

This sophisticated log cabin quilt is made using 11 different solid fabrics. The arrangement of the fabrics in the blocks creates the interesting design of this quilt. The red centers plus the black and purple are the consistent colors in every block. 1 1/4” strips are used throughout the quilt.

Moon Over Mountain

Summer Solstice - finished size - 90" x 90"
Summer Solstice features an elongated “Moon Over the Mountain” quilt block drafted by Jean Wells. This is a scrap style quilt with a planned theme for the fabrics. Our quilt’s fabrics represent the colors and textures of the mountains, foothills, canyons, and the moon with its many phases. The instructions are for freezer paper appliqué. The freezer paper templates form a base around which the fabric is shaped, glue-sticked in place, and then machine appliquéd using invisible thread. Finished size of the block is 12” x 14”.
Mt. Fuji - finished size - 39" x 51"
This smaller version of Summer Solstice combines the larger Moon Over the Mountains blocks with smaller blocks. A very narrow border and accent stripes are added using one of the moon fabrics to set off the quilt and give it an Asian feel. Finished size of the large blocks are 12” x 14” and the small blocks are 6” x 7”.
