Metolius Quilt Pattern

As a child, Jean vividly remembers the trout in the Metolius River in front of her grandmother's cabin. These two quilts pay homage to those fish and Jean's memories.
Two color families join together, along with white, in this modern quilt featuring improvisational piecing. Blocks are pieced intuitively in the log cabin fashion, creating one-of-a-kind designs. Instructions are in a "design class" format and the finished quilt will be uniquely yours.

Long Runner

Short Runner
- 13" x 37"
Gentle curve piecing, cutting without rulers is the technique used for creating these runners. The project not only gives you practice cutting and sewing gentle curves, but it is an opportunity to play with color and make the twenty colors flow together throughout. Tiny bits of contrasting color are scattered here and there to create interest in the design. This technique can easily be adapted to a wall quilt as well as being sized to any table.
