Vagabond

Vagabond is a classic quilt that also goes by the name Trip Around the World. For this version, you will be using 2” finished squares. The fun will come in playing with color, pattern, and value. The pattern is for a 76” x 76” quilt, but it has yardage requirements in case you would like to add borders.

Log Cabin with an Amish Twist Quilt Pattern

Finished Size: 83” x 83”
This sophisticated log cabin quilt is made using 11 different solid fabrics. The arrangement of the fabrics in the blocks creates the interesting design of this quilt. The red centers plus the black and purple are the consistent colors in every block. 1 1/4” strips are used throughout the quilt.

Dot Are Hot Quilt Pattern

A fun & playful quilt using the simple blind-hem stitch applique technique to secure colorful circles to the quilt blocks. We used a total of 18 solid fabrics, allowing plenty of options to play with color combinations for each block.

Fractured Stars Quilt Pattern

This beautiful star quilt began as one of Lawry's mystery classes. The stars are "fractured," so that there are no "Y" seams necessary in this simple strip-pieced quilt. Strip piecing helps bring this quilt together quickly.

Carpenter's Square Quilt Pattern

This very traditional Carpenter’s Square gives the appearance of strips of fabric weaving in and out in the blocks. When looking closely at the design, you will see two different blocks. These combine to create a classic two color quilt. Ours is two solids, but a solid and a print would work as well.

Moon Over Mountain Quilt Pattern

Summer Solstice - finished size - 90" x 90"
Summer Solstice features an elongated “Moon Over the Mountain” quilt block drafted by Jean Wells. This is a scrap style quilt with a planned theme for the fabrics. Our quilt’s fabrics represent the colors and textures of the mountains, foothills, canyons, and the moon with its many phases. The instructions are for freezer paper appliqué. The freezer paper templates form a base around which the fabric is shaped, glue-sticked in place, and then machine appliquéd using invisible thread. Finished size of the block is 12” x 14”.

Mt. Fuji - finished size - 39" x 51"
This smaller version of Summer Solstice combines the larger Moon Over the Mountains blocks with smaller blocks. A very narrow border and accent stripes are added using one of the moon fabrics to set off the quilt and give it an Asian feel. Finished size of the large blocks are 12” x 14” and the small blocks are 6” x 7”.
