“A Patterned Village” was
designed and constructed
by Tonye Belinda Phillips
of Camp
Sherman,
Oregon. Tonye is an
exceptional teacher, quilter and author and
we love the wall-sized quilt she’s designed
for our 2012 raffle.
Tonye took this year’s theme, “A
Patterned Village,” to heart. Having been
immersed in funky houses for the last few years, this was
right up her alley. This particular “village” is surrounded
by wild flowers at their peak, just like the second Saturday
in July – Quilt Show day! The houses, circle and half-circle designs are all needle-turn, hand appliqué – Tonye’s specialty. This process adds a bit more dimension and texture to the village and its surroundings. The quilting was done by Cindy Young.
Proceeds from the annual raffle quilt are shared
between Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show and Kiwanis of
Sisters. Over $3,500 has been donated to support local
Kiwanis programs and we are thrilled to be able to
support our community partner in this way.
The winning ticket will bedrawn at 4 pm on Saturday, July 14th, Quilt Show day,
on the lawn behind the
Stitchin’ Post. Winner need not be present.
