Everything you need to know for a fun, and no fuss week.

Preparing for Quilter's Affair

Find all class information (including any required kits, patterns, or extra fees) and class supply list in the class description. All QA classes can be found under Education/Quilter’s Affair/Classes from our main menu. You will also receive an email with a link to your class supply list upon registration.

Sewing machine rentals are available from Cynthia's Sewing Center in Bend. Visit their website to register.

Lunches from Oliver Lemon are available for purchase in advance here. You can also purchase lunch the day of class through the Marguerite Cafe hosted by the Sisters PEO. All PEO proceeds go towards scholarships for women in the Sisters Community.

Feel free to log on to the instructors’ websites to learn more about them and to see more examples of their work. The instructor list with teacher bios & their links can be found in our menu under education/quilter's affair.

Visit soqs.org for information about the quilt show, contests, Sunday walking tour tickets, and this year's featured quilters.

You can cancel Quilter’s Affair workshops and events until May 31, 2024, for a full refund. After May 31, there are no refunds or exchanges.

For questions, please check the Stitchin’ Post FAQ, policies page, or email Lawry@stitchinpost.com.  Lawry has a large volume of emails to process so it may be a few days before you hear anything from her. Stay
patient as she will get your message answered as soon as possible. Please do not call the Stitchin’ Post as they will only direct you to email Lawry.

Arriving at Quilter's Affair

Students registered for at least one workshop can pick up their tote bag and name tag for Quilter’s Affair at the Stitchin’ Post from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm July 6th & 7th or at the High School from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm July 8th – 12th.

Most classes and events are held at Sisters High School: 1700 W McKinney Butte Rd, Sisters, OR 97759 excepting Suzie Zietner's classes which are held at her studio. Full day classes run from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm with a lunch break at 11:30. Half-day classes are held from 8:30 - 11:30 or 12:30 - 3:30. Susie Zietner's classes are held 9:30-12:30. Quilt Walk, BBR Quilt Show, SOQS, and Sunday events are held at various locations around town.

When you arrive, local students will be available to help you carry in your machines and supplies. They appreciate a tip but otherwise the service is free.

Some workshops require a specific book, pattern, or a lab fee for supplies. We have indicated these items in the class descriptions and supply lists. Lab/Pattern fees are to be paid (in cash) to the instructor at class time.

Those registered for a workshop (event registration only does not receive a name tag) will receive a 10% discount at both the student and downtown Stitchin' Post stores the week of Quilter's Affair (July 8th - 12th, 2024). Discount is valid in-store only and some limitations apply. You must wear your name tag to receive the discount.

A listing of area accommodations can be found at soqs.org. You may also contact the Central Oregon Visitors Association at 800-800-8334/website or the Sisters Chamber of Commerce at 866-549-0252/website.

You can find a list of local restaurants here.

Registration

Online Registration opened for all workshops and events at 10:00 am PST, Wednesday, January 10, 2024, on stitchinpost.com. See class listings for current availability.

All registration is online only. No registrations will be taken via USPS mail, e-mail, paper (walk-in), or fax. All classes are filled on a first come, first served basis. Putting a class in your shopping cart does not guarantee you a seat - the seat is not yours until your order has been charged and processed.

All students must have a Stitchin’ Post customer account before completing checkout. You may create your account before registration to save time. If you already have an account, please make sure all the information, especially your email address, is correct. You may only purchase classes for yourself - friends must register separately.

Class information and supply lists are available to browse and plan your desired schedule starting in late December. Classes appear as “sold out” (don’t worry they aren’t) until online registration opens.

After registration opens, sold-out classes will have a waitlist. If a seat opens, the first person on the waitlist will be emailed. You will have 48 hours to respond, after that, the next person on the waitlist will be sent an email.

Shortly after your registration is processed and your credit card is charged, you will receive an email receipt. Check your junk mail folders if you don't receive a receipt within 30 minutes.

Any communication in reference to registration must be directed to Lawry Thorn by email: Lawry@stitchinpost.com

You can cancel Quilter’s Affair workshops and events until May 31, 2024, for a full refund. After May 31, there are no refunds or exchanges.

Each workshop is coded by level of expertise: Beginner workshops are for people who have little or no experience with quilt making; Confident Beginner workshops require you to have rotary cutting and piecing experience; Intermediate workshops require you to be comfortable doing your own interpretation of patterns/designs; and Advanced workshops require you to be comfortable with all levels of designing and creating quilts.
